  1. He’s just resting after his big Saturday Night Live (at home) performance. Apparently getting dressed is quite taxing to some these days.
  2. If he breaks each of his posts into three, we got this, easy.
  3. I think what is fascinating is that our data is coming from Hopkins and journalists, not the CDC. The largest infectious disease public health crisis in a century and the CDC isn’t the leading source of data? That’s pretty shocking. But I don’t see it as much a coverup as incompetence/underfunding.
  4. Longer? Meaning a comparisons of two countries? US and Canada? Since we have no national lock-down policy, I’ll have to say Canada. Or do you mean longest, comparing multiple counties? I have no idea, because the countries that do it best won’t need to do it the longest.
  5. I would shave down to a Zappa if I got a N95. All I have is flu masks, though.
  6. You think so, even with a reported 82,000 cases? While I think cases and deaths are likely much higher, I wouldn’t characterize the response as an over reaction. If not for what they did, the other, more reliable world data would be much worse.
  7. I trust the population estimates for China. And Russia. Do I trust their health statistics? Not in a million years. But I don’t think 20,000 + US deaths is “hysteria”.
  8. I know. Our dear leader doesn’t seem to know this. He thinks this “germ” is dangerous because it’s evaded the effects of antibiotics.
  9. It’s a very stable genius germ.
  10. Because China doesn’t have a large population?
  11. The problem, I am told, if that the germ is very smart and is able to resist the effects of antibiotics.
  12. I’ll just assume that’s a euphemism so the driving 45 minutes after work makes sense.
  13. Oh, my 401(k) took a big hit, but it’s rebounded a bit. But I’m not drawing on that any time soon, so that’s fantasy money. My son’s 529 college fund took a hit, and he’ll need to start drawing on that in August. But that’s a first world + problem. I feel fortunate to be working, and have been working a ton of OT. My wife is working from home, busier than usual.
  14. It may be an early spring, but not really prime tick season. Not that it’s impossible, I guess, but it wouldn’t be tops in my concerns at this time of year. But IMNAV nor stayed at a Best Western. Glad they are eating.
  15. Happy hour gimmick, designed to obtain hours of continued drinking and bar food purchases.
  16. I know several physicians on home quarantine for two weeks because of an exposure to a work colleague who tested positive. They can’t get tested because they aren’t symptomatic and test shortages, but can’t get cleared until the incubation period has ended. 🤷‍♂️
  17. Yeah, it’s a major inconvenience to get Covid-19. To put it mildly. But if she infects a major teaching hospital by coming back to work without being cleared, I think that would be worse?
  18. Maybe I’m misunderstanding your use of the term “exposure”. Because for anyone to break quarantine due to a sense of work ethic or financial drive seems recklessly irresponsible and selfish. Doesn’t Canada have PTO, short-term disability, FMLA???
  19. If your apartment roommate is Covid positive, you’re allowed to go to work until you have symptoms yourself??? We self-quarantine for two weeks. *assumes communal, shared space in the living quarters and some interaction within 6’ without masks, but I don’t know too many roommates that don’t have some face to face contact or that wipe down their kitchen after each use.
  20. She needs to quarantine for two weeks without symptoms before she can return to work, on-site. Or get tested negative.
