  1. You want? What about what I want, Jan? I have asked you repeatedly to quit being so childish with the eff this and eff that in your thread titles, but it allus falls on your deaf ears, and you continue with it, as here, so tedious, Jan. What about my feelings?
  2. I agree with your last comment here, yes, it really is the only way to go with OJ, anything other than freshly squeezed is a waste of time. Fresh OJ with whisky, with gin or with vodka, delish. I also agree with those who say, eat the orange, just eat the bloody orange: actually, blood oranges, my absolute favourite orange of all, will soon be in the shoppes, one of the good things that winter brings ?
  3. Wood duck, eh? These will nest in trees I expect, giving their jung a great safe crib for their first few weeks of life, but then, he!! they has to leap in a non fly-ey way to the ground and trot after mom to some water - what a crazy start in life, what? Beats me, but it seems to work for them ok. I’m not much of a birder either, a side line only, I watch the Sheffield peregrines mostly, I have olde style big binocula, which are a bit of a drag to lug around, but this week I found a pair of minis, 10 x 25, cheap in a charity shoppe, they are the thing, easy to have in the pannier for any chance need.
  4. Ja, I know that; it ralphy you should be telling, he started t thread.
  5. I’m lucky to live in a country and society where it still safe to venture out or stay home as I please, armed only with my owne half wits, for now at least.
  6. Jane Austen’s juvenilia, a novella on horse riding, remains unpublished, I was lucky enough one time to peruse the manuscript, was provisionally titled, Stables and Stability.
  7. Ja Ralph, I can imagine just one of those suckers or maximum two, would provide an average familiy’s scoville daily recommendations for a whole year ? they are not, no sir.
  8. Saul’s Goode:that’s more bums on more opera and theatre seats, more funds for the health service and other good causes.
  9. On further consideration I think we’re back to knife play, stabs her hand right through pins it to the desk in her grasping for his cookies, like in Godafther part the first, later she sleeps with the fishes.
  10. Your pellet gun would have been useful. Just sayin.
  11. Like I said, they are generous to a fault, they are the tax collectors gift that keeps on giving. They know not logic, or odds, example, when the jackpot is large they have more punts? Does not compute, baby: when the pot is bigger more folk have a punt, your odds of winning decline from minuscule to almost invisible, so why? A normal week the pot is too big to spend in one lifetime, why don’t more folk have a go then? Don’t try applying any logic to it, they don’t, for which I love and thank them, for the Royal Opera, for one example, and for the new winter bedding plants going in now in the Botanicals, they will please me on a daily basis, bless em.
  12. I love the lotteries, or Lotto as we race fans know them, a voluntary tax, a tax on the foolish, deride them in any terms you choose but I love these people, after all, they fund so many things that I love, from art galleries to opera, orchestras, even my Botanical Gardens next door: lottery players are Great, so generous, so selflessly giving, they are the best people ?
  13. That’s the spirit, Dotts, shit on those little bastards ?
  14. Chris, you’re nuts, my fat balls, these birds are insatiable.

Wiffie get a day off cooking, man: look at mister New man Thom here, folks, and his kitchen knife skills.
  17. Love it: late days of the season, getting in the last fruits of field and fridge, stocking up for the short cold days and long colder nights to come, living the life, 12 ?

And what does mister the honourable herder of the sheeps need a knife for, on his person, at all times? To ward off delinquent lamb attacks, or jemmy a Boy Scout out of a sheep’s hoof? I don’t think so, chum. Whereas I need mine from minute to minute, I’m sharpening my pencil one minute, next I’m tweaking out a staple, Oh, now my nail is caught and needs pairing, yada yada yada. In short, you really don’t know what you talk of, man, again: I make no wonder they call you n00b still.?

That surgeon was hopefully not clumsy but I am still glad to have not sampled his knife skills this day at least. ?

Thom, just because you are able to spell poseur does not give you any cause to call me one, so let me repeat, I has mine in my sky rocket ar all times and use it every day without fail. Do you want me to further justify carrying it, or will that suffice?

Fortunately they are rare in these parts, but I did dodge a knife today.

I still cannot adam&eve this, Thom. You are a literate fellowe are ye not, suppose one day you are penning a missive to one of your people and t’nib of thy quill becomes blunt or scratchy, so you reach for your pocket then remember you don’t carry a penknife there if you’re not camping? Intolerable and risible, Thom, you are not going equipped, olde sport.
