Try not to ride it in the gravel, around corners, at 20mph - again.

Seems like good advice.  Probably wasted breath, though. :D

You can do the gravel but you have to focus. Just don't let it slip out from under you.

...I've been told you can prevent this sort of crashing by proper tyre sizing and inflation for your conditions.

I rarely ride on gravel any more, and 20 mph is not something I average on a regular basis.

I prefer to crash on light rail tracks. Not as much skin rash and a better helmet test environment.

I am sure that if one were to pay someone else to ride through the rough spots, injury would not be as painful.

Mechanic literally told me - YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR TAPE MORE OFTEN!

...sure, if you use yellow or white bar tape.  This is why god has given us black bar tape, man. Think of black bar tape as a heavenly gift. You even have a black saddle, fer Chrissakes. (The tilt of which seems somewhat overly aggressive to me, but it's your hands.)

He misspelled Poseur.  😁

Rouleur!!!

“I was a rouleur,” Johan Museeuw says. “A rouleur is someone who can ride on the flat. A rider who can go hard on the cobblestones, a rider who can make the breakaway. Not at the beginning: four riders going away for publicity in the Tour de France? That’s not really a rouleur.

“A rouleur is somebody who knows the race and has the specialisms for it. Not really a good climber, but he can defend in the mountains and do some great things on the flat. A rider with a big engine who can ride alone, who waits to attack in the last ten kilometres, not for the finish. A rider who is always at the finish fast: that’s the meaning of rouleur for me.

“Thomas De Gendt, that’s a rouleur. He tried at the Dauphiné, the Tour de France, everywhere, to go in breakaways, at the beginning and the end. He always wants to drop his rivals. He wasn’t a winner, but he’s a rouleur. One time a rouleur, maybe you’re always a rouleur.”

Had the black tape.  Man, that mechanic scolded me for my grubby black tape.  Grubby yellow tape would have been changed much sooner :)
