shootingstar Posted May 14, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 14, 2018 Down by a wild bird sanctuary park, I was taking photos of a (courting) duck..when I heard a rustle dragging sound.. by the river. Less than 5 metres away, a beaver hauled its body out of the water and dragged its paddle tail along. ? It nearly freaked me out..then I was madly photo-shooting away. Beaver was intent on chewing the wood on little branch it had felled. Saw 4 different types of wild ducks, a bunch of wild deer..they looked scrawny and hungry. We missed a Great Horned Owl.

shootingstar Posted May 15, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted May 15, 2018 We also came across about 8 wild deer in the park. Very accustomed to people..they munched away on the grass. Saw common merganser duck (male & female), common goldeye duck (male & female) and wood ducks. Too bad we missed an owl. Yesterday was International Migratory Bird Day. Below is wood duck. https://cyclewriteblog.wordpress.com/2017/11/03/autumn-amble-for-wild-birds/
