Former member Posted May 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 22, 2014 A family of 17 tiny quail just ran through the backyard. They look like tiny dirty cottonballs with legs.

Nate Posted May 23, 2014 Share #10 Posted May 23, 2014 are quail desert dwellers? I didn't know that I had ducklings at the place this morning. I didn't have any birds nest at my place this year, but a duck and 3 ducklings came down from one of the other lakes around here and were at my place this morning I think the family of raccoons that have set up shop here might have kept the nesting bird away this year. Today is trash day and so I know they're still around. I threw away half a pack of stale corn tortillas, and they apparently had a little raccoon fiesta last night. We have neighbors several houses down that have domestic ducks. Last year the ducks found their way to our house via a trout stream in the back of our property. They would visit a couple times a day to tour our yard finding bugs to eat. They found some favorable nesting spots around WoKzoo's landscaping and raised a couple broods of ducklings. They haven't been over to our place much this year bit today WoKzoo sent this pic of a momma duck sitting on a nest under our kitchen window.
