MickinMD Posted April 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2019 The sitar that the Beatles made famous when George Harrison went to India and took lessons from Ravi Shankar is pretty complex as well. They made Ravi Shankar famous as well and one of the American groupies who was intimate with Shankar on his American tour gave birth to a girl who inherited his musical talents: multi-Grammy winner Nora Jones. Shankar never supported her.
BR46 Posted April 13, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 13, 2019 I have enough problems trying to keep 6 strings in tune. And then there's Keith Medley with 27 string harp guitar.

The harp strings become fixed bass notes and the top E string is mostly used as a thumb stop. I played with one for a few days and liked the added bass range but not enough to buy one.
