  1. Laura's page on the Salsa website. Start riding. Maybe @Wilbur will pick you up and fly in.
  2. Salsa Cycles contacted my cousin and wanted to do this at his shop. He didn't turn them down. I know that very few here are close enough to take part but thought I would post it anyway.
  3. If you are close and can get away from work Wednesday April 20 at noon Salsa Cycles will have a great program at Pumpkinvine Cyclery in Middlebury, IN Salsa Cycles project manager Laura Haraldson will recount her experience as a first-time bikepacker on a multi-day trip between firetowers in Montana. Schedule of Events: Noon: Presentation 12:45 PM: Q&A and Refreshments For more information, contact: Pumpkin Vine Cyclery 413 N. Main St. Middlebury, IN phone: 574-825-2252 web: pumpkinvinecyclery.com email: info@pumpkinvinecyclery.com There will be food I'm looking forward to this. https://www.facebook.com/events/238243203194272/
  4. Unhook it. Very easy to do. Not too sure I want to pull a trailer over the rough parts of the C&O. I need to stay light so I can keep up with you and @petitepedal I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a race.
  5. I've shown this picture before but I think I will be packed similar to this 400 mile trip.
  6. I know that you, LJ and I all own them. A BOB also works as a table.
  7. I like a light weight rack and small bag or handlebar bag to carry light items I may want to access often during the day. The BOB was reserved for camping gear and things I would used in the overnight camp.
  8. Unless you are going on very rough trails I would stay with the lighter and cheaper hard tail BOB. Also the MTB tire that comes with the BOB isn't great. I changed to a high pressure road style tire. The BOB bag isn't necessary but very nice. In the rain and mud you will through a lot of slop on the trailer.
  9. I'm not TK or LJ but I have found the BOB to carry all I need. I have went lighter and don't use it as much any more. Often use the Revelate packs on the Fargo unless I am staying on paved roads and that hasn't happened much i the last few years. I will be on Dayton for Hamvention May 19-22 and could take the BOB along if you want to meet up and try one and see if you like it.
  10. Not entirely true..... I know some who don't ride recumbents. A bushy red beard and a MTB is accurate too. @Dirtyhip where is your red beard? Extra points for a Surly or Salsa.
  11. All it needs is a rattlecan of rustoleum.
  12. Nice collection. I love visiting used book stores.
  13. It is. 5 years of it with my mother-in-law. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.
  14. Hey @petitepedal Jane says she may be persuaded to trade some of that cheese for some more of that Minnesota tea that you gave her at the tandem rally. She loves it and only drinks it for special occasions.
  15. I guess that is good.... as long is it is enough to cover the repair. I got a pleasant surprise this afternoon. Insurance adjuster called and I found out what I will be getting for my truck. About $1000 more than I was expecting so I'm not unhappy about that. $4500 is better than 3500 for that old truck.
  16. Monday March 28. There was a truck fire on the Indiana toll road.
  17. I would post this but she may think that instead of "nice" it is "work"
  18. I came to post this and saw this thread. Saw him perform many times and also performed many of his songs.
  19. RIP Merle. The first song I played on stage at Buck Lake Ranch
  20. No pail but I found more barbecue chicken and cheese in the refrigerator like I did yesterday.
  21. I can not eat just one piece of cheese..... unless it is a very big piece. If there is still cheese left I am still eating.
