  1. I guess it's fewer than I thought. Aside from current phone numbers for our land line, cell, wife's cell, parents and brother, there's my grandparents' house, where my uncle now lives - that number has rung at that house continuously since 1959. Our old house phone growing up, and the old numbers for my friends John and Jim from high school, my girlfriend during college, my wife's when she was my girlfriend (still got the post-it on which she wrote it down)... couple old work numbers, my old boss who lives in the neighborhood, couple local restaurants where we get take out., and some from earworm jingles like Empire Carpets and Kars 4 Kids. And some weird ones, like I realized I remember the number for the PBS TV station from Schenectady. Why on earth would I remember that? countless pledge drives, I guess... but I haven't watched that station in over 30 years. Why would that knowledge even occur to me? Brains are weird. Clearly having a phone with numbers stored has eliminated the need to remember them... also probably eliminated an important form of brain exercise.
  2. I can't imagine... I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.

  4. still had BUNCH out there, guessed lucky.
  5. list price: $5 grand. When I was shopping for my road bike I wasn't able to find one in a store, to test ride - I had to take measurements against my existing bike and find out what needed to be bigger, and I crossed my fingers when I ordered it... thankfully it worked out. I wonder if this would be the same experience. Interesting to note that this bike has 200mm crank arms - compared to the 210s on my road bike. I thought the "Dirtysixer" might have even longer cranks. (current models of my road bike also have 200s)
  6. We have grown carrots in our small backyard garden for the past few summers. They are probably the thing that grows the best out there. But a bag of carrots is so cheap, I too wonder if it's worth the effort, and I might use that space for something else this year.
  7. I will take 2. thanks. I will watch the video at lunch. I'm seeing dual brake discs on the front - is that a thing nowadays? or is that just a thing for this bike?
  8. finally get to post in here... 16 miles on the road yesterday, temps in the mid-60s. Felt great. followed it up with a 1.75-mile hike up at Baldpate Mountain with my daughter.

  10. I don't ask all that much of my drill so i figure it doesn't have to be the best.... last summer I spent $50 on an 18v cordless by Bauer at Harbor Freight. It's been great so far, recharges really quickly. Only came with one battery - will it hold up? We shall see.

  18. As I recall the cabin air filters are impregnated with charcoal or something so they look dirty even when new. The times I have replaced a cabin air filter I could definitely tell which was the used one.
  19. yes, I feel like I have heard a blinking CEL is worse than a steady-lit one. Good luck.
  20. I got all excited when I saw this - but it looks like John Hickman LLC is a developer in the area. It's not Johnny Hickman, the guitarist from Cracker.
  21. Is that as-the-crow-flies miles, or driving distance?
  22. I've had good and bad experiences at both, no obvious winner from my perspective. I go to Home Depot more often, mostly because it is more convenient if only marginally so (I can get there without using the dreaded US Route 1). Because of that, I've become more familiar with the store and am more likely to know where things are, which reinforces my choice.
