  1. And... you sold the wings. (yes Wilbur... I know....) The Wing House It could be worse.... the home could be in Buffo NY.
  2. The way it was explained, was it will take no more than 21 days for the IP PIN to arrive in the mail. The rep 'requested' the PIN to be sent to me. Why the IP PIN would not arrive... it was never explained, and I didn't ask. My assumption was the IRS still needs to 'verify' me and if that fails I won't get a new IP PIN. The failure of the USPS... that could happen. But I don't think that's why the IRS told be just to mail the taxes. Maybe... they know their system sucks, and the new IP PIN will never be issued. I'll just get my taxes ready to mail. If I don't get the IP PIN, I'll just mail them to the IRS.
  3. Actually I was told, If I don't get it, send the taxes in the US mail. Which I really don't want to do. But that maybe how this ends. And if I'm lucky... I'll get my refund before next year.
  4. It is much easier than that. I just need to have TurboTax print out the tax forms I need to send to the IRS. That's all 100% complete. All except for the dam IP PIN that won't work. Then I need to be sure I also include the required supporting documents. I remember sending copies of W2 forms, but I don't get those anymore. I may need to send in some 1099 form(s). More reading... I haven't filed m taxes with paper in years, maybe decades.
  5. Yeah... most of the day it's been over 45 and now for a while it's been over 50. It's been WINDY.... It will start raining over night, and sometime tomorrow, it will get cold and rain will become sleet, and eventually 4 to 8 inches of snow.
  6. Yeah blisters UNDER your big toe nails suck... A day after the hike, I had to drill a small hole in each toe nail to drain all the stuff.. It was bad.
  7. Only 6 miles. WoBG and I were hiking with another couple. WoBG wanted to go for a longer distance. We could have done that, the other couple said no. I just ignored ALL of the warming signs my feet were telling me. Yeah I was stupid.. I've hiked longer on many vacations in the past. I know better. Even WoBG... told me don't wear the new boots. Yeah my bad...
  8. My IP PIN will be reissued and mailed to me. The rep doesn't have access to the PIN. I suppose that is a good thing for security. If I don't receive the PIN in 21 days. I get to file my taxes on paper. 1 hour and 57 minutes on the call. To be continued... Edit: I just had a horrible thought I'll probably get the same PIN that won't work.
  9. OMG... I finally have a LIVE person on the phone. I passed the 'identity test'. Now I'm on hold while my account is being reviewed.
  10. Yes... I didn't do that in November for a hike. I was thinking.. just how bad could it get. New boots and not stopping to tighten up the laces when I knew I should... (still thinking.. just how bad could it get.) I found out how bad it could get. I'm still waiting for both of my large toe nails to grow back to normal. Yeah I lost both toe nails about 2 weeks after the hike.
  11. When you go out into the woods tonight, you can look up and then tell us if there was a full moon. Just watch out for those falling trees. At least you will be there to hear the tree fall.
  12. Just incase you didn't notice... most Hallmark Movies start out with this exact scenario. There is a possible promotion in a different city. Good luck...
  13. I agree... so may sports have 'judges' that from what I've seen over the years are biased and way to objective.
  14. I found that before reading the entire thread. Hudson mayor resigns after saying ice fishing could lead to prostitution I watched the OP video and could NOT believe what he said.
  15. My taxes are not that complicated. No business. Just our income, 4 places that pay interest, the Ameritrade info downloads in to TT, and our real-estate taxes alone blow past the $10K limit for deductions. I use TurboTax because it's easy, I get a refund in a few weeks, and a lot of the stuff from last year gets imported to this year's taxes. That was true for 20+ years... Yeah... I may need to change my plan. But for now... I'm not giving up. On hold now for 57 minutes....
  16. Hmmmm... something for me to consider.
  17. Not quitting yet... I've read where the 2020 backlog for paper filed taxes was (probably still is) huge. @Kzoo your taxes are probably in a box in the IRS backroom still waiting to be reviewed and processed with a just a few million other tax filings. I don't want my 2021 tax filing to be added to that stack of unprocessed returns.
  18. This ^^ is even more incentive for me to keep trying to get the IP PIN error sorted out, so I can file electronically. I don't want to deal with this again next year. I'm on Plan B... about 15 minutes ago I called the IP PIN number, but navigated that automated phone system hell to another rabbit hole. Now I'm on hold for 30 to 60 minutes waiting for a rep. Maybe.. I'll be lucky this time. This will be the 10th call today.
  19. Today is the day for the call to the IRS. I started at 9:00 AM. The results so far... The phone number for IP PIN questions had a menu system. It took a 6 minutes to find out I need to call the regular IRS phone number and the automated system hung up. The regular IRS number has a maze of automated questions. I need to make notes of the options I need to find a real person. 5 layers deep into the menu I found a way to talk to a real person On the 4th attempt I FINALY got to a place to wait for a real person. I explained the issue, I was transferred to an 'Individual Account Rep' and then after a short wait... back to the automated system and got the message we are too busy... call back. click. The 5th attempt... I messed up on the menu selections, and the system hung up on me again. The 6th attempt... I got the menu sequence correct. I asked for a phone number for the issue, then I explained the issue. Before I could ask any other questions... I was transferred and once again the automated system told me they are too busy. click. More to follow...
  20. Thanks for the link. These maps are so cool. I found a maps for Ottawa IL. I always wondered why there is a street named Canal St in downtown Ottawa. Now know.. its the obvious answer... There was a canal there in 1888. It's gone now. Things changed.... then again the old court house (still in use) was on the map. Next time I go downtown, I need to find the building cornerstone.
  21. In my case.... that's called landscaping. For the last 2 winters, I have installed fence posts and a small nylon rope to build a fence to keep the deer from eating the small fir trees we have, in front of our home.
  22. From the linked article; Making things worse, elk can starve on hay. That 's news to me. I never knew they eat all the hay and still starve to death. The elks die and the farmer doesn't have any hay left. They both lose.
  23. This... which probably explains why it takes me forever to lose weight. But I'm still slooooooly losing weight. I know how to lose weight, exercise more and eat better stuff. I just do bad on the 'better' part of eating. One thing I have gotten better at is eating less. When WoBG and I go on a date, most times we both only eat half of the food they bring. We take home the rest and eat that another day.
