Saturday at the races Mona was just a little off. On Sunday she was shaking and slept more than normal so Monday morning my son took Mona to a vet and they gave her a shot and some medication that she is all ready on for some health problems. It looked like she was starting to get better but then this afternoon she got worse. She couldn't keep any thing down so she went in to the animal hospital where they did more tests. It turns out that she has a tumor pressing on some of her internal organs and she is going to need surgery. We were planning on racing this weekend but it looks like I might be driving to Georgia instead. My son has a small pickup and I think that Mona would be more comfortable making the 14 hour trip in the motorhome. This is a photo that a track photographer took of Mona on Saturday morning

Smokey boy is such an expressive pup. My daughter had to replace their comforter yesterday as Smokey kept chewing on it. 1st day with the new comforter she catches him in the act. His expression is priceless.

Wo46 volunteers at the animal shelter and she got a message to see if she could come in to help out.......7 yes 7 new puppies arrived this morning and she's going in to help with the new arrivals. On to the sad news.....Oscar is back at the shelter. I guess he didn't get along with the other animals at the new home.

Thankfully Ruby is snot. Her predecessor was a hard core one! The dawgz I had when I was a kid Shirley were. One more reason that Ruby is such a good dog!

My 5 year-old nephew Ryan had been working for K-mart in the Garden Center before they closed down is looking for something better and runway modeling interested him. So he did a 4-hour training course in S. Carolina with his Uncle Cheese who provides catalog models for Sears and Spiegel. He's just been accepted for a runway fashion show in Mesa or Juneau AK beginning either 7/7 or 7/20 for 3-4 weeks. He'll be represented by Maury Ballstein and has to take tests and get 85% or better on them as progresses. He should do well and is very excited about it. He's a 2'6, broad shouldered guy who won the Pierpont Morgan award on his college lacrosse team, and I'm hoping they'll like him especially due to all the canine violence over Ylva lately.

She started volunteering at the Humane society and yesterday was her first day. She busted this guy out of jail for a few hours and they went for a long walk in the park, played together and then she went back to his place to snuggle. Then on the first day she cleaned up his pad.

We moved all the agility equipment today to set up a practice rally obedience course. Meanwhile the Airedales were running about playing with stuffed toys. This is a rare, supervised treat as Lindy tries to kill them immediately. They were racing about and generally having fun. Then Ryan came over to me without a toy. Yep, Lindy was collecting them all. Such a slick one, that Lindy.

Baby Bruce is ready for adoption! This little tyke is hamming it up with big fur foster, Boss, who also is a rescue dog-but he already has a home! Bruce was found hunkered down under a parked car recently with two litter- mates who have already been adopted. He's a happy guy, obviously dog and even cat friendly! Older dog friendly kiddos will be just fine, too. Bruce is house and crate trained. Likely a heeler/shepherd mix and on track to be about 70 pounds when full grown. He needs a home with a yard, another playful dog is his dream, and an active owner who has lots of time to spend with him. Read up about Bruce at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our no obligation adoption application today if he's the boy for you! #dsdabruce #adoptdontshop
