AirwickWithCheese Posted May 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 12, 2015 Tonight I will be supervising Mr. Latimore for my 12 hour shift and he's promised to give me the inside scoop on what happened that fateful night. Most people do not know who he is or his story. Do you?
Randomguy Posted May 12, 2015 Share #2 Posted May 12, 2015 I haven't the foggiest notion. Can you supply a postcard version now, and add detail, color, and texture tomorrow? I will pop popcorn if you let me know what time tomorrow you will be adding the additional pertinent facts.
AirwickWithCheese Posted May 12, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted May 12, 2015 I work all night so it will be tomorrow afternoon. I will tell you this. Mr. Latimore's shortcut cost several people their lives and changed the face of history.
AirwickWithCheese Posted May 12, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted May 12, 2015 Last clue. Mr. Latimore is not incarcerated for that night nor has he ever been charged with anything related to what I hope will be the focus of the interview. I think he's in this time for petty larceny, not sure.

AirwickWithCheese Posted May 13, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted May 13, 2015 Yes, nice job. However, there was no love shown for this thread. Shame because I just finished the interview. Mr. Latimore was involved with the Lynyrd Skynyrd airplane that went down in Mississippi after their show in Greenville.
Wilbur ★ Posted May 13, 2015 Share #7 Posted May 13, 2015 I Googled Mr Latimore and all that came up was this thread. We are relying on you, as is anyone who Googles him to fill us in Cheese. Awaiting with bated breath.
maddmaxx ★ Posted May 13, 2015 Share #8 Posted May 13, 2015 I'm still waiting with baited breath. I've never gotten a bass.
AirwickWithCheese Posted May 13, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted May 13, 2015 I confess the complete lack of interest and love for my thread has me very down. Maybe it's because Greenville was their last concert and what the crash meant to the South. I can tell you that post interview what I learned was stranger and more interesting than I was expecting. I think I will sulk and not share. It's kinda cool knowing history that so few know. I also hate Neil Young.

Wilbur ★ Posted May 13, 2015 Share #12 Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) He isn't favourite artist, primarily because of his vocals but he is an excellent guitarist and composer. He and Van Zant became friends and Neil composed songs LS would use. I think NY was a pallbearer at Van Zant's funeral. At the time, it wasn't uncommon for Canadians to decry racism in the Southern US. I also don't blame Southerners for being upset by being lumped in to one big redneck racist stereotype.
