Square Wheels Posted September 6, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2015 What was your little plumbing job? If you glued some popes together and they are leaking, you need to take them apart and start over. You can't simply add more glue.

They need a Cardinal and two choir boys between them to stop the leaks.
Square Wheels Posted September 6, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 6, 2015 Ahh, I just read the other thread. You're in luck. Take the plug out and put some pipe dope on it. Snugly put it back. They need a Cardinal and two choir boys between them to stop the leaks.:) tablet typing.

They'll either give you some teflon tape of pipe (pope) dope suitable for PVC. Problem solved.
Wilbur ★ Posted September 6, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 6, 2015 If it leaked when you weren't using the drain, the trap is leaking. Just unscrew it and make sure the seals are seated properly and not cut or torn. Hand tight is what they are designed for. Under-tightening and over-tightening can cause leaks. petitepedal ★ Posted September 6, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted September 6, 2015 So do I need the dope...or not??? I thought these were designed to loosen and tighten as needed...at least at the p-trap

Just make sure the seal is in place and not damaged, then tighten the parts.

Square Wheels Posted September 6, 2015 Share #11 Posted September 6, 2015 seal...duh like a gasket? I didn't see anything like that. that's because pvc traps, at least in the us don't have them. It needs tape or dope. The pug is incorrect, or Canadian, kinda similar.
