Dirtyhip Posted September 25, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2013 About a gallon of salsa. I used tomatoes, peppers and onions from the garden. I'm taking some to give away to random people at work. I'm giving one to perogie man and another will be the first person I see that is frowning or having a bad morning. Dirtyhip Posted September 25, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted September 25, 2013 Dang. I wish we worked at the same place! I've been looking for some good salsa. How do you make it? I mean, food processor or...? Mmmm, pierrogies! My nana (busha) makes the best pierrogies. To be honest, my husband is the salsa man. I just stepped in, because he is too busy right now. We grow roma tomatoes, walla walla sweet onions, and several types of garlic. My garlic varieties are all mixed up, because I am going into my third year or self propagation. I use a food processor to chop up things, because I am lazy. I chop up jalapenos, and banana peppes until they are pulverized. Use the entire pepper, seeds and innards for heat. The ingredients are basically: Roma tomatoes peppers onions cilantro garlic dried oregano sea salt lime juice If the tomatoes are too juicy, I sometimes drain them through a sieve. Otherwise the salsa has too much liquid to it. I don't can this stuff. I keep it in the fridge for about a week. It rarely lasts that long. I give a ton away, and sometimes barter with it.
