  1. Prefab, but home-baked cinnamon rolls and coffee. Wind is howling. Supposed to get into the mid-40s. We had planned a photo shoot outside when forecast was mid 60s. We're going to try with a Plan B in the studio if needed.
  2. 45 minutes on the weights then ran 3.5 miles on the treadmill for Jack! Jack is a guy in our running group. He had a severe accident while skiing this week. Head injury, arm broke in multiple places. 4 broken vertebrae, and severe damage to his hip! He and is wife were preparing for a very ambitious run calendar this year. Now it will be months before he can bear significant weight. He was being transported from Rapid City to Omaha today. Hope to have a better idea of long- term prognosis after that.
  3. They are incredible live! We got to the venue a little early so we could get a table. Made friends with some couples about our age and shared our table with them. One in their group had seen them multiple times. For the rest, it was their first time. They were blown away! One of the guys in their group leaned over to me and said prior to the show he thought their friend was nuts for chasing a band around the country, but after seeing them, he now understands!
  4. We got to see Lake Street Dive again Tuesday night. So that's my musical mood right now!
  5. I sweat more than I used to. I've been told the more fit you are the faster you sweat.
  6. I had been a member of a photo group with a similar off-topic forum. Without notice, it just disappeared one night. Someone gathered the members he knew and started a new group. It was ok, but pretty quiet. When I took up cycling on a higher level, I was just looking at what cycling was like elsewhere. Stumbled on the Bicycling Forums. Saw the Love Forum was an active version like the old photo forum and quietly settled in.
  7. Surprised me, too! That had to be around 10 years ago. I had just joined when the meltdown was happening.
  8. I had totally forgotten that word was banned there until I shared a story of my friend, nicknamed the Pixie Ninja, who won the Western States 100 womens division last year.
  9. He's going blind because.....well....

    Dinner?

Ahi tuna steaks and wild rice.
  11. I seem to have found a balance of looking and making eye contact that is apparently not creepy or threatening. I have had several who modeled for me say beyond my photos on my portfolio the fact I didn't come across as a "creeper" was a huge factor in them wanting to work with me.
  12. Most I liked had left there. I remember when a topic could disappear from the front page in minutes. Now some old posts were on the front page for weeks! I was too lazy and busy with other stuff to make the leap, but the login issues were the final straw!
  13. 6 mile commute. First one of the year! If I have to work on Saturday, at least the commute didn't suck!
  14. I had a career change thrust upon me 15 years ago. I was hoping to make it about 6 more months there before giving my notice. I took a healthy pay cut to stay in the area. I miss the money some times, but my life and relationships with wife, family and friends are so much better! It was worth it!
  15. I don't like spiders and snakes.....
  16. I prefer semi-dark rooms. So often on service calls, I will work in the person's office with the lights off. Invariably someone who thinks they are being "helpful" says, "Here, let me turn on the lights for you!"
  17. Working until 5. It's warm, but very windy. I was able to bicycle to work against the wind before it picked up. Should be a fun tailwind home! Going to see "Hidden Figures" tonight with WoW!
  18. Leftover chicken tikka masala.
  19. I got in 18 on the gravel with my old MTB. 37 but sunny.
  20. I'd have to see it on, but I don't think it's your style! ?
  21. The band Dive By Truckers did a brilliant album several years ago called "Southern Rock Opera". It was about coming of age in Alabama about the same time I did. Even though I grew up on the plains, a great deal of it was totally relatable for me. There is a spoken word piece "The Three Great Southern Icons". It deals with several topics including the south' hatred for Neil Young. Some great insights. I have had friends who normally don't listen closely stop everything when this plays.
  22. But in the desert there ain't no one for to give you no pain!
