Neither of us wanted to spend the time in airports and deal with rental cars so I just drove. It gave us time to talk and process emotions. Driving long distances has never been an issue for me. On the way there I did 22.5 hours the first day. I've driven 30+ before. My brother is wired the same, so was my father. I guess it's genetic...
