Road Runner Posted January 14, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2015 It came with the "Real Theater Popcorn", but I can't eat that stuff. Way too much saturated fat.
Dirtyhip Posted January 14, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2015 It came with the "Real Theater Popcorn", but I can't eat that stuff. Way too much saturated fat. I have that. There is some good recipes in that little book. I like making the italian popcorn. Note: Get some of that parm in a shaker. It isn't so great on pasta, but it does stick to the popcorn well. Yum! Dirtyhip Posted January 14, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 14, 2015 I use coconut oil in mine. It has a somewhat high smoke point.
Square Wheels Posted January 14, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2015 We have one of these. It goes in the microwave and doesn't need any oil. I almost never eat popcorn, but I like this toy.
Road Runner Posted January 14, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted January 14, 2015 Here is the "nutrition" data for the supplied popcorn. It says 5 servings, but I'm pretty sure I would eat it all at one sitting. 8 grams of saturated fat per serving, a whopping 40 grams of saturated fat for one container. 160 calories per "serving", or 800 calories for the normal guy. Randomguy Posted January 14, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 14, 2015 Yay! I can't wait to hear what you think about it. I ordered the Boulder Popcorn the other day, I am pretty excited about that, too.
petitepedal ★ Posted January 14, 2015 Share #7 Posted January 14, 2015 I just use corn or canola oil with my popper and plain popcorn. We buy the special oil here for our big machine and seasoned salt...but at home...just table salt...and.... butter.
