torch511 Posted September 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2013 I tried... I tried to like the new Bicycling forums but honestly, I just don't. There are some good people there, and there is some great advice and content but geez if it did not feel like Rodale gave everyone a huge middle finger. Can't say I will NEVER post there again, but I am going to try here for a while.
Ralphie ★ Posted September 23, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2013 The hiker is really trying, though. Sounds like he is sort of a voice in the wildernecss as far as trying to make them customer-oriented. Typical Apple hippy guy.

Louielouie-FP3 Posted September 24, 2013 Share #6 Posted September 24, 2013 I hear you loud and clear.....I also tried to like the new format but they (Rodale) make it really difficult!! What good is it to have an alleged "real time" forum if everything you post has to be approved first? So much for having your bike on the stand with a broken part and then have to wait for the mod to take his sweet time while you wait for an answer from let's say Velobro who is one of the most knowledgeable guys over there!! Glad to be here folks!! Willing to help out!! BTW, I underwent a total hip replacement last week Wednesday (Sep 18th) so the doc put me off the bike until Nov. 15th. So if there are any questions about bike wrenching please fire away! I will do my best to answer the call!! Reverend_Maynard Posted September 24, 2013 Share #7 Posted September 24, 2013 BTW, I underwent a total hip replacement last week Wednesday (Sep 18th) so the doc put me off the bike until Nov. 15th. Wow! That doesn't sound like fun. Hope you have a quick recovery.
torch511 Posted September 24, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted September 24, 2013 BTW, I underwent a total hip replacement last week Wednesday My favorite aunt (age 74) fell down about 2 months ago and broke her pelvis and her femur. Instead of setting the breaks and letting it heal they did a hip replacement and her recovery was amazingly fast. They kept her in rehab for the 20 days (allowed by insurance) but really she could have been out of there sooner. Hope your recovery goes as smooth and WELCOME to the forums. Square Wheels Posted September 24, 2013 Share #10 Posted September 24, 2013 I can't identify why, but I just love Pinarello's. Maybe it's the sexy fork?
Louielouie-FP3 Posted September 24, 2013 Share #11 Posted September 24, 2013 For me it's the way the geometry works so well to put all your efforts into the drivetrain! My FP3 is going on 4 years old and I still haven't been able to outgrow it!! Of course, the badass paint job is easy on the eyes too!!
torch511 Posted September 24, 2013 Author Share #12 Posted September 24, 2013 That is a sweet ride - What size is the bike? and can I borrow it while you are laid up.
Louielouie-FP3 Posted September 24, 2013 Share #13 Posted September 24, 2013 Hahaha Thanks! It's a 52.5 (in Pinarello) which equals a size 54. It's because of the slightly arched top tube.
PissedOffLaxDude Posted September 24, 2013 Share #14 Posted September 24, 2013 Hahaha Thanks! It's a 52.5 (in Pinarello) which equals a size 54. It's because of the slightly arched top tube. Damn too small for me! Oh, heal well! It's pretty amazing what the ortho's do these days.
Parr8hed Posted September 24, 2013 Share #15 Posted September 24, 2013 I am outbiked when I ride my current rigs. (well maybe not the single speed), but I would REALLY be overbiked with that thing!
Square Wheels Posted September 24, 2013 Share #16 Posted September 24, 2013 This thread is like porn now. I keep coming back and everytime I see that bike I feel like a dirty old drooling man... oh wait.
Indy Posted September 24, 2013 Share #17 Posted September 24, 2013 I am outbiked when I ride my current rigs. (well maybe not the single speed), but I would REALLY be overbiked with that thing! My single speed after 10 years still over bikes me. Plus, it's so shiny.
