Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted September 24, 2017 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2017 Sunday school on the bicycle. I'm riding with a former Cat 3 racer. Former meaning he hit the pavement hard in 2013 and hasn't raced much since. We recently reconnected and he is helping me regain my pre-Ohio fitness level. We did hill repeats today. 38 miles, 2:10, 17.5 avg, 1,275 feet climbed. Good way to start the day. September: 316 miles 2017: 3,722 miles 107,556 feet climbed

Caretaker Posted September 24, 2017 Share #3 Posted September 24, 2017 A couple of miles to a street market and back. Bought a French corkscrew for €5 and a 1930s catalogue €1 for this Paris department store They were looking for €80 for this bike, I didn't buy it. Liked the leather frame bag. Had a Brooks saddle. Probably a stolen bike

I was flummoxed at a single speed tri bike....until I noticed the zip-tie parking brake.

I'm finally up to 3 every other day. I was doing 4 - 9 every other day before I hurt my leg in February. I plan to do 3 every other day for September, then 4 for October, 5 for November... I'll probably stay at 5 or 6 every other day until spring, then add in a long run on weekends. I will be faster on the hill run next year.

Almost tripling my long run, in eight weeks is kind of stupid. However, today confirmed that I could do the Syracuse Half, in November and not die.
JerrySTL ★ Posted September 24, 2017 Share #13 Posted September 24, 2017 Walked a little over 3 miles with WoJSTL and our 1.5 YO grandson. Later rode 24 miles at a slow 14.3 mph avg. It was hot and humid and I just didn't have the legs today.
