Square Wheels Posted October 3, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 3, 2013 So, I looked at my (electronic) paycheck and the Federal government took almost $300 in Federal taxes (plus all that SS stuff I'll never see). If they closed, what are they doing with my money, aside from paying congressmen? Will I be getting some of it back? I called to ask someone, but they were, err, well, closed. Along with everything else that comes out of my check, I hardly have enough left for gum. We got whacked pretty bad for for "accounting faux pas" and I have claimed 0 for federal and state for years. Fed Withholdng 293.43 Fed MED/EE 28.77 Fed OASDI/EE 123.05 MA Withholdng 100.86 Parking 27.53 Health 43.61 Dental 5.53 Vision 1.41 Supp Life 16.51 Child Life 0.48 I'm divorced, so there is a sizable garnishment for child care too.
