Kirby Posted November 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2019 Coworkers help a fed ex worker in Greenville who was waking 12 miles home each night get a new car. That's just the sort of feel good story about Greenville he'd want to celebrate. https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/nation/2019/11/04/gofundme-fedex-worker-darlene-quinn-12-mile-walk/4154337002/
jsharr ★ Posted November 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2019 The Cabriolet broke down so he has to walk to and from work, so he no longer has time to post. Maybe we should buy him a car? 2

Randomguy Posted November 5, 2019 Share #10 Posted November 5, 2019 I don't believe this story at all. Older chick walking 24 miles roundtrip in a day? Nah, somebody is lying here.

Walked home The story said she caught a ride in in the morning "for a while", thus strongly implying that the "for a while" stage was over. Walking home 12 miles everyday at her age, after working all day?? Still no chance. She is lying or other people are, and there are a whole lot of people lying to themselves. Buses, Ubers, people giving her rides, borrowing a car, etc. Plus, did any of these people every hear of a frickin' bicycle? Nope? Not such a hardship anymore to ride that distance unless you have heavy rains or snowstorms or whatnot. If you can afford gas for a new car, you can afford a bicycle. People did a good deed and helped her get a car, but then tried to make themselves all dog rescuers with the made up stories of epic neglect or unrealisitic hardship. i don't doubt the hardship or the pain in the ass factor that this woman had to deal with, but practically speaking couldn't have been anywhere near that presented in the story. Bah.

Bah. They forgot to mention it was uphill in the snow both ways and she was barefoot.
