Razors Edge ★ Posted April 13, 2020 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2020 Isn't it about time, @Indy? I think my dad would open the pool earlier and earlier over the years. End of April seems a bit early, but could see a May opening as reasonable.

Hey, the water was balmy 56F when they got in. Was surprised how long they were in before both decided a hot bath sounded good. Just telling them no all the time isn't always effective learning, sometimes you just have to say what the hell, they aren't going to get hurt so let them figure it out for themselves.
Further Posted April 14, 2020 Share #6 Posted April 14, 2020 When I was 7 years old at summer camp in the Adirondacks, swimming was first activity, at about 8:00. Adirondack lakes are cold. They ran a steam pipe out into the lake to give the illusion of heating the water. It didn't work.
Longjohn ★ Posted April 14, 2020 Share #7 Posted April 14, 2020 If we could socialize I would already have my pool open. The granddaughters are usually in it before this. If my wife and I were not considered double risk I would have them over. The water on the cover was froze two days ago. 1
