That is a lot of work. But that is a really old style. Newer style (non automatic) has a spicer (trademark) that shifts low/high gear. Then you use your gearshift to work the gears. And a tab (splitter) on the side of the gearshift goes high/low in each gear been a long time out of the seat. Just tossed my old Thermos bottle. Had a lot of dents from rolling around under my seat

Oregon just started allowing motorcycles to go between lines of cars stopped or going slowly on the freeway. Not a fan. (get off my lawn) They always startle me. Then I get grumpy. Had one yesterday split the lane. I was about 18 inches off the stripe. Don't make no nevermind. Then he sees a gap in front of a big rig and zips over to the shoulder. He was awfully close to that truck when he shot over to the shoulder. Lane splitting...good or bad?

Or they might have taken engineer advice from International (Navistar). In 07 with the new low sulphur fuel and cleaner diesel engines on the way Navistar thought they had engineered around a urea system to comply with diesel emission standards. Worked for a while trying to engineer "harder" to get to a solution. They used credits to stop gap. Eventually the credits became too costly and they had to give u. The CEO lost his job. And Navistar ended up going to a urea solution
