    Welp that's it

Of course technically, he's in the 5th grade. As far as 5th grade requirements, he tested as either proficient or mastered in everything before Christmas break, most things he was rated as a 9th grade level, that was according to the report, the highest it rated to. For him, it's social contact as it will be fall before he sees friends and that will be in Junior High, so bigger school and harder to see people.

They issued a waiver allowing the schools to shorten the required days by 20. So he will probably be done by the beginning of May then.

Schools are closed for rest of the year here. My son did not take the news well, he's been looking forward to going back.
  4. Supposedly, there are several places with vaccines that they are wanting to go to human trial with now and just wanting FDA approval. They want to do them in hot spot areas and determine which ones are most effective. Just waiting on a FDA green light.

  6. A couple days, I usually go to the grocery on Sunday.
  7. I've got to sister's local, so I let them handle that. My attitude is they are definitely old enough to know better and are going to do what they are going to do. I did joke with them about going out and I think that's a good thing, it means more of an inheritance because they have less time to blow it.
  8. My parents, though rural, were that way, they finally know someone affected (not anyone I know though) and that drove it home to them finally.
  9. I've noticed the more affluent areas for one thing, seem to be the most under the impression that the rules don't apply to them. Those are the ones that still were trying to do their spring break trips. Also you have the most world travelers in those areas, so a lot of times that is/was your source for the outbreak in the area.
  10. Yes and people actually wonder why I never attend all hands meetings with top level management giving updates. I learned long ago, they don't give you the truth, only what they think you want to hear. Now would I want that job and having to answer to shareholders who a lot have more money than brains? Oh hell no.
  11. And since they are girls, their weapon of choice is ear splitting screaming. I was warned that girls scream a lot for no reason by a father of four girls, I had no idea true and bad it is until now.
  12. Mine used to eat whatever you put in front of her, but here recently she has become really freaking picky. Kind of making this a real pain in the ass right now as you know how easy it is to reason with a five year old, especially a female one.
  13. Also, workers don't always understand why a business is essential. And just because one person doesn't think it's essential, doesn't mean it really isn't essential to another. For instance, I know people have bitched about where I work and why is the factories still open. Well, we are critical to the shipping industry as we also supply parts to keep trucks running and right now, we can't really afford trucks down for long. The supply chain is already stressed.
  14. That is a safety cover designed for that. It's rated to hold a couple thousand pounds, so about as safe as walking across the floor in a building.
  15. She's over 4 feet tall now and around 70lbs. Yeah, for just turning 5, she is definitely huge.
  16. I have that problem, mine likes to push my chair around the office with me in it.
  17. Yes I can and glad I had to move. Just wish it was warm enough to open the pool. But have a shop to fart around in now and plenty of yard for the dogs and kids to play in and me to fart around with.
  18. The issue the county that completely closed down "non-essential" sales. There are people living there still taking college classes, except now online. Most of their supplies is considered non-essential, so they have to now drive an hour to go get it. People with young kids and trying to keep things as normal as possible for them because they can't comprehend what's going on. Yeah, my daughter completely doesn't understand why we can't go to the playground on a nice day and regularly throws a f'ing shit fit about it, so you know what, if buying her a toy helps her coupe and gets her through another week, I'm all for it and have done it. Then not to mention the poor kids that have Birthdays during this and now can't have a party, you expect parents to not at least get them presents to help them deal? The entire thing is f'ing stupid. Just because something isn't essential to some random person in a political office, doesn't mean it's not essential to someone.
  19. My regional hospital just finished an expansion, like finished weeks ago. The new wing has a completely separate air handling system and was/is to be the new main entrance, but given the timing and setup, the decided to open the new section as a covid center and rest of the hospital for normal operation. On another note. I remember growing up where every town seemed to have their own hospital with quite a few beds. Those were all closed for small outpatient surgery centers and all you had were a few regional hospitals that had bought out all of the hospitals and neighboring towns and closed them. Right about now, all those local hospitals look like they were the better idea.
  20. Does it leave an oil ring around your wrist when you take it off? It should to be authentic. Cool bracelet.
  21. I'm sorry, but those are not essential so you have to wait. A county here in Indiana has went to the extreme where they actually put out a list of what's essential and stores are prohibited from selling things that are not on the list whether they have it in stock and open or not.

    Meatloaf?

I went the other way, I have the recipe in my recipe book but adjust for 2lbs of hamburger now. The amount of food my daughter (not the almost teenage son) puts away is freaking amazing.
