  1. Now do that with white onions, and salt, and squish the onions slightly too. Oh, and chopped parsley, if you're fancy. Add it to Gyros, Lahmacun, Tantuni, with sliced radishes, or like my daughter, an entire onion by itself that way.
  2. Sumac Köfte Baharat (rather normal spices in a unique mix) Dried Juniper berries Galangal
  3. This is the solution. An alternative as well as for Garmin device uses the HRM-PRO strap as its "running dynamics" capture treadmill and other workout actions awesomely.
  4. I saw that thread and abandoned adding to it. Was down most of Saturday/Sunday with the worst stomach bug I've had, ever. Better Monday, actually ate and today I feel ok.
  5. Very. I am glad that it sounds like you're seeing the right person to help with this.
  6. Yup. I made friends with a recycler here in Tampa about 6-7 years ago. Lots of companies cannot sell directly to employees due to PII or some accounting wizardry so instead, sell to these guys. The HDDs are trashed but everything else is up for grabs in resale or e-waste.
  7. For that, I would also turn to corporate resellers too. You can buy two or three generations back, very performant machines, for a fraction of what you'd buy new for. In the general computing sense, the difference in performance is negligible. I purchased an entire stack of 8th Gen I7 micro desktops all outfitted with generous storage and ram for less than $200 each. I built a 6-node cluster computing farm for less than the retail price of one of these machines new.
  8. Depending on your need and use case building a computer is a sliding scale of difficulty. A simple Youtube, chat, and data processing system is almost as easy as a hugely powerful development beast. The biggest challenge when building is selecting the correct components to fit your budget and use case. PCpartPicker.com is a great resource for this.
  9. I do not believe in the consensus that large corporations are evil. Corporations, however, are an entity where their advancement is the only reason for existence. As such they make decisions that inherently do not benefit the general populace. Not evil, but profit over people/country/environment.
  10. My bikes a 2003-4, I must have a "classic"
  11. I'm working. As a friend today said; "Some days they'll get 40 hours worth in 8 hours; others there will be 8 hours of work in 40." It seems most time I do a mix of both too. Blinding productivity followed by days of screen staring.
  12. Why I have no skin in this game, Mac users can do what Mac users do. I'ma gonna recompile a kernel somewhere... Oh and I don't really "pirate" software, I primarily use open-source software. I DO pirate the shit out of Music, TV, Movies, and video games, although I will buy those after a short period if I enjoy the game.
  13. We spent 11 days there in 2021 and loved it. If you want any places/things/travel tips I got a plenty.
  14. We love savannah. Every time we visit we do some wondering and wandering.
  15. We have several like these. We have 12oz, 8oz, and 5oz sets. We ran them in the dishwasher for awhile until we founf that they had a little hole on the bottom sealed with epoxy. Dirty dishwasher water in the in-between is not a good aesthetic.
  16. Seems it is a mixed bag of people having this holiday off. My daughter was off Friday as it was "fair day", the state fair is going on and will be in session on Monday. Same for my wife, she's in the University system so she is working Monday as well. I'll be off. The weather looks to be cool but sunny, 75*, I plan on going to Caladesi island via kayak, set up my backpack hammock an chilling with a book and some tunes to the surf. How about you?
  17. We have one. Bought one of the super silent Bosch when we first moved in since the other one was an abomination. It's so quiet that it has a little light projector to project on the floor it is running and how much time is left. You couldn't tell otherwise. It also cleans exceptionally well. I just knock the solids off into the garbage and away it goes. We run it probably every other day. I do hand wash more sensitive items like pots and pans and the double walled coffee glasses.
  18. We're 50 this morning and my ass is chilly. We were 86 on Saturday. This yoyoing of cold to warm is annoying this year.
  19. Was up at 5am getting ready for my running race today. A little event on the water, no serious distance, just a 5K. When my daughter peeks around the corner all sad-faced asking if she can tag along. Woke mommy up, breakfast for the family while they got ready and we were on the road by 7am. Good race, too many fast old fuckers for me to do any better than slightly above average. Placed 6th in my age group, with 25 participants, and 24th overall. Best part was I actually had a cheering squad.
  20. Dammit guys. Why'd you dredge up cool memories? Was out shopping with the girls today and walked past a new local hobby shop. Had a bunch of cool buggies and trucks in the windows. The lil one was looking at them in awe. I gotta wait a few years before I plot another hobby on hers and my plate alike.
  21. Tonight is the Father-Daughter dance at school. Pick the lil' after gymnastics, get dolled up, and go have fun. Tomorrow is a "Glam 5K" fun run for the same school as a fundraiser. I have an outfit similar to Ace Ventura, plaid-ish running shorts and a pink Tutu. Sunday is Superbowl party at the neighbors.
  22. In Turkey, yes. The main city, Gaziantep, where this occurred is a major metropolitan area with a population of over 2 million. But as @ChrisL 7.0++ is a big earthquake no matter the building codes. They've had multiple quakes/aftershocks and the experts are expecting 5.0 and above aftershocks for the next few weeks. My wife has family in Malatya. Some buildings are damaged there too but the home her grandfather built stands still. Her cousins still live there. You can see it in Google maps, https://goo.gl/maps/TmVpu67Qv7Bs4hoB9. Her aunt and great-grandmother are living in a high rise just a small walk from that house. They are staying put.
  23. Used Venmo for years then someone got my credentials, I use 2FAo so they never got my access. But every few months I would get spammed with a dozen or so password change requests. It was unnerving. I use Zelle for pretty much everything else so I closed Venmo and called it a day.
  24. Hockey still going strong. Watching the All-Stars games today.
