  1. Now you can give it back to them when you buy $10 worth of tickets. They are counting on it.
  2. Really? Why are you looking so green? Too much green Tea?
  3. Through high school and stayed local at a Jr College for first 2 years. During the college time I worked a 3-11 shift at the hospital, late nite (would say dead, but it was a hospital ?) was slow and could study. There was this EKG technician, also with nothing else to do, so she ran a EKG on me. I think she really wanted me/us in a sublime position and needless to say the EKG came back abnormal. Of course the obvious joke was what she was doing to my heart and the report a creative writing exercise. Later, saw the doctor reading EKG's so asked him if was correct. He suggested I see a personal cardiologist. While simple murmur, noted would deplete O2 which explained why became so winded in track and forget basketball in highschool as up and down the court were wind sprints. Of my current activities, he told me to stop scuba diving and smoking. I did, and also didn't get involved in MJ which was just coming on the scene.
  4. "Moon Pie" and "alternative" should never be used in the same sentence! Now where is my RC cola?
  5. Just hit 80 degrees here. Daughter and family went to beach before having to catch their flight at 8:25 this evening. Seems really strange seeing heavy winter coats on their suitcase.
  6. Yeah. We ran out of light bulbs, so now we have to hit posts.

    Where is peds?

I think they spell it "gaol" over there.
  8. Happy New Years...and able to write the year for the first time without messing up.
  9. I got up at 0618. Heard the beeper on the coffee pot time. Coffee was ready.
  10. That's a lot of drunk drivers hitting posts. People, drink and drive responsibly! Hit 5 or 6 posts, not one. It is the only responsible thing to do.
  11. Dang, I missed it. Must have been some good stuff, certainly NOT Bud Lite with Lime. But wait a minute, if you had all members plus 150 guest...who impersonated me? Russian trolls?
  12. I use the Epson V550 Photo which is their mid-range flatbed. In addition to photo scan, it will also do 35mm and 220 film and slides. Earlier this year I scanned my mother's entire slide collection, about 500 from various films all in the 2x2 cardboard frame mount. Additionally so 220 B&W film my wife found of her as a child that she had no idea even existed. I used the software that came with the Epson which was similar to prior Epson scanners I have used. Very little change over the decades. Was tempted with Canon's similar scanner but 1) scanning detail specs were not quite as strong as the Epson - but certainly sufficient, and 2) already have a Canon MG6329 all-in-one printer which is better for photos than my HP laser and was afraid I might create a scanner software conflict with both having scanning capability. I tend to use the Canon for document copy scanning but, like all "all-in-one"s it is not a robust as a flatbed for photos. The open source software linked in the original post is probably ok, but why test fate with potentially conflicting TWAIN drivers. Additionally, I didn't see where it had the capability to scan slides or film (requies activating pass-through lighting in the top on the scanner) or a setting for the dpi of the scan. For documents, I typically use 150 dpi - color or B&W, scan prints 300 dpi, and film/slides 2400 (or higher) dpi. For B&W will typically see better rendition of both text and print tonality with 8 or 16 bit greyscale rather than the B&W setting. Quick review of that software photos, didn't see where had that level of control. Use what the manufacturer provides for free and download it from their support site for the most current rather than the CD that comes with the scanner.

    Squirrel!!!

    Dinner? Where is your shotgun?
  14. Dare it to hit you with it's best shot. Take it like a man!
  15. Skip/decline your going away retirement party. It is not for you anyway...they just throw it so they have an excuse to go out, get drunk and act stupid.
  16. That's a Dollar Store special. Get them before they are gone.
  17. Since we know Petite has no problem deciding what car, like when she moved from her Ford Ranger to the Mazda, should we let her know that Ford totally updated the Ranger and released the new one as a 2019 model? ?
  18. I am hoping it is a tight game with Clemson winning...then UCF remaining undefeated with a blowout win over LSU just to give the selection committee a black eye.
  19. Likewise. We will be having for New Years Day meal. Daughter's return flight to Switzerland is 8:25PM New Years Day so a good sendoff as spending a night at the beach tonight for new years eve. Black-eye peas over rice, collards, grilled pork chops and cornbread. While may have some sweet tea, she has been trying various beers while here, including mix-n-match variety packs. One she didn't try was Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, so surprising her.
  20. I I just looked at all my pennies. No bullet holes in the head! I'm rich...minting defects making the pennies rare and valuable. ?
  21. One thing people include on the spreadsheet comparison I noted on diesel vs gas was price difference retention at trade-in. In other words, look 3 or 4 years forward gas vs hybrid models. For example if hybrid costs $4000 extra but returns $2000 at trade in, then savings/ break even would not be the $4000 on the spreadsheet but the $2000 projected value.
  22. Rule out the handful of States that tax Social Security income. I think there are about 11 of them.
  23. Any children/relatives, possible grandchild obligations, etc? May want to consider a 1 day drive radius (not too close) or an area with good plane connections (i.e. a hub city) with direct flights. That was our plan - somewhere in the NC, VA area - when daughter settled after college...but then she moves to Switzerland and married a Swiss citizen. That would place the Azores as halfway between son in CT and her in Lausanne. I should note that homes I photograph in a 55+ community, to make conversation I always ask where moving too. At least 50% of the time it is back up North to be near family.
  24. During the gas wars in the late 60's, price per gallon would drop into the teens. Gulf had Gulftane which was also leadfree and typically cheaper than regular. However, I have always found it interesting that when everyone started offering leadfree and pricing it higher than regular, Gulftane disappeared and Gulf suddenly offered an unleaded without the Gulftane name priced higher than regular.
