Brillinta is a very specialized blood thinner for people that have suffered a heart attack and had stents placed. No need for regular blood tests to see if your blood is too thick or to thin like with rat poison warfarin . It was invented in cahoots with the stent makers and you have to take it twice a day for twelve months.

If our local military pharmacy carries it, the cost is free. If they don't have it in stock, I can order a 3 moth supply for $29. Good deal
Longjohn ★ Posted August 30, 2021 Share #53 Posted August 30, 2021 Just be careful when on blood thinners. I was just out mowing on the zero turn and got too close to a rose bush. I didn’t even feel it until I felt the blood trickle down my leg.

Dottleshead ★ Posted August 30, 2021 Share #55 Posted August 30, 2021 I really hope all is well Jerry. My hero cannot suffer in pain w/ loss of his lifetime partner. Hell, she's a biker and that in of itself warrants massive respect. You did well. Now let's hope she does!

Was supposed to be for 12 months.

If Brilinta makes things worse, someone will think that I'm beating her. We walked about 4,000 steps today and she's a little out of breath. Expected. 4 2
Kirby Posted September 2, 2021 Share #59 Posted September 2, 2021 So did she come home yesterday as scheduled? She'll probably get more rest without the noises and activity of the hospital.

We are doing short walks together to build up her strength. 3

Popular Post JerrySTL ★ Posted October 26, 2021 Author Popular Post Share #62 Posted October 26, 2021 Update. We rode 18.3 miles together on the tandem. It's her first bike ride since the heart attack. The cardiac rehab people said that she could go 15 miles so we cheated a little. She's been walking almost daily to get in about 77,000 steps a week. 5 10

How long after she got out of the hospital was it before she started cardiac rehab? They waited with me until I got out of that stupid Life Vest. When I went in for my follow up visit and they found out I had been riding my bike they said I didn’t need cardiac rehab. I was doing good until I started chemo. If you wore pants while doing yard work you may not have this recurring problem. Blue jeans are good. Army fatigues are also pretty tough.
