Airehead Posted October 23, 2021 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2021 …but I woke up thinking of Meatloaf’s Bat Out of Hell rock opera. sure hope I won’t be gone by the mornings light. That album, released in 1977, is over forty years old. I feel old. Didn’t Meat Loaf and Jim Steiman have a big falling out? And now I have an ear worm “And all I can do is keep on telling you I want you I need you But there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you Now don't be sad 'Cause two out of three ain't bad Now don't be sad 'Cause two out of three ain't bad”

All of my favorite albums are now 40-50 years old. The first LP I ever bought at age 10 was Tattoo You, which was released 40 years ago.
BuffJim Posted October 23, 2021 Share #3 Posted October 23, 2021 I dreamt I was at high school in the auditorium and this one kid flipped out and ran away. He had a history of Arson so everyone had to evacuate. I woke up before he had a chance to burn down the school. 1

It’s probably the song that I heard in the radio that prompted me to make the purchase, I would imagine. Or the imagery of all the tattooed faces on an end aisle display? But it made a fan out of me, for life. Start Me Up started as a “reggae” sounding track in 1975. They then did two takes more up tempo, but bagged the song, feeling it just wasn’t there. Those two takes were rediscovered by an engineer years later, and evolved into what we know.

I remain one of the few people who have never seen Fight Club. But I thought the Paradise by the Dashboard Light Video was a real work of art. Lowbrow art maybe, but what the heck!

Airehead Posted October 24, 2021 Author Share #11 Posted October 24, 2021 I make my running playlist from the songs best for 12 minute miles list. That includes Jennifer Lopez, On the Floor and Salt-n-Pepa, Push It. Then I put in some songs for 15 minute miles, too That includes It's Still Rock and Roll to Me by Billy Joel
