He is only doing about 42 on the early section while pedaling. I think he might only have a 48 ring. 😄

Hit 56 on our tandem once. Only 1 mile long straight section thank goodness. No pedaling. Bike rock solid but helmets and glasses weren't. 

Hope to never do that again. 😕

My fastest so far has been 47. A friend told me of the time he was descending Vail Pass and learned his front tire had a shimmy at 50 mph! He has a very slight build. He was sitting upright to slow the bike without hitting the brakes but without much luck! On the next descent, he was tapping the brakes to stay below 50!

If I build a 2 stroke motor for that bike I think that I would be able to double the top speed of that run.

The first thing I thought about...   how close was the chase vehicle?  If the guy on the bike got into trouble, he could get run over rather quickly.  

35 to 40 down the few hills I have, is fast enough for me.
