Nate Posted October 3, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 3, 2013 that looks like a fun ride, Hippy. Is this an event this weekend, or is this just for fun? for me, I probably won't get a chance to go out at all. I'm going deer hunting Saturday morning and then helping a friend with his fall pumpkin sale up at the Church Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Dirtyhip Posted October 3, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted October 3, 2013 that looks like a fun ride, Hippy. Is this an event this weekend, or is this just for fun? Just for fun. I can almost taste that 100,000 ft goal of mine. I'm at 88,200 ft. Looking forward to the 14 miles of downhill.
Nate Posted October 3, 2013 Share #5 Posted October 3, 2013 Looking forward to the 14 miles of downhill I worry more about that part than I do the uphill. You can end up absolutely flying.
Dirtyhip Posted October 3, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted October 3, 2013 I worry more about that part than I do the uphill. You can end up absolutely flying. I did a 13 mile downhill on a mountain called Hammaker, recently. Got the QOM on the descent, and beat the 2nd place girl by 2 minutes, I was cooking. Almost overshot one turn, and had to check myself a little. haha I fucking LOVE going fast.
Nate Posted October 3, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 3, 2013 now you snowboard, does any of that translate into downhill bike riding?
Dirtyhip Posted October 3, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted October 3, 2013 now you snowboard, does any of that translate into downhill bike riding? Meh, not really. Although, a somewhat lack of fear helps with both sports. Cross country skiing helps more for biking. Balance and endurance. Snowboarding is more like surfing. goldendesign Posted October 3, 2013 Share #12 Posted October 3, 2013 A thirty or more ride on Sunday for myself. Damn! DH! That seems like a serious climb. Here in FL everything is flat. I do "hill" repeats on overpasses
