Thank you Page. I sort of thought about that. In my case I am worried about 1) reducing my wifes survivor benefit if I die before her. She would be locked in at a lower rate for the rest of her life And 2) Longevity. I don't want to get to 85 and be eating catnip and cheerios for dinner Thank you for expanding on my idea Jerry you might think about going to a Financial planner for a look. We went to one last year. WoScrapr needed some reassurance. And I was stuck on an idea that needed some help.

Good ideas by TK & LW. but...if you are stuck on retiring it is "generally" better to use your 401k/investment money first. Reason? SS has about a 7-8% increase built in each year that you delay. And that amount is locked in for life. It I difficult in this interest rate/stock environment to get close to that rate. (without going out on the risk curve) *not intended as investment advice .....you should see some of my beauts

at the home place they got 2.5 inches of rain. Mostly starting at 4:00 pm. So I think that put a damper on things We are at our 2nd home tonite. Exactly 2 trick or treaters. Both <2 years old. Kids are soft today. On the other hand....more for moi -

Right where I am sitting now. Bend, Or. Hoping/planning to retire here in a couple years. Part timers now. I was out at "rush Hour" yesterday morning. Looked like traffic in PDX at 11:00 at night. I made it through every signal in one light change. Unbelievable! Every season but more sunshine that over on the wet side of the state. It was pouring rain yesterday in Portland. Nothing here. Low humidity. A bit of pollen. Doesn't bother me much, but WoScrapr is affected. Wind blows a bit. But for a vacation nothing beats Little Cayman -

I use Yelp to find services. I think Yelp has it's own issues. But I trust bigger volumes of reviews. I will typically go to the negative or the not recommended reviews to look for a pattern. And see if I can live with it

angie is a scammer. Contractor doesn't pay for "advertising" and you don't get placement yet Angie claims we are not beholden to contractors. IIRC something >50% of revenue comes from contractors

this guy has got it tough. Officers checked on a reported suspicious man near the garages at a local apartment complex. After talking with the man, police learned he had just returned from a seven-month stint on a commercial fishing boat and arrived home to find out his key did not work in the door and his wife had left him. The man had nowhere to sleep and was going to brave the cold and sleep behind the complex garage. The man's luck changed when a local warrant for his arrest allowed for a warmer stay and meal at the Washington County Jail. this Police log always has a few nuggets

I had not heard of this. So UTFG. It's for composite bats. in cold weather the bat hitting the ball really stings your hands. And apparently can dent your high dollar bat. Likely increase hitting distance as the bat has more "give" when struck and trampoline effect (launch) when leaving the bat That's all I got. http://batwarmer.com/

I think that is what I love. You can get so close to the game in college. Goss Stadium only seats about 3k. A few more in the outfield. So you are right on top of the action. 2013 when Beavers won the super Regional to go to the CWS K State had a rally going in the 9th. Very tense game. Beavs win as the crowd is chanting O Ma Ha. I had chills. Heck I have chills remembering it I never thought a cold weather team could get to the CWS. It was always USC, ASU, UA, Texas, etc.

Parr8 I'm mostly a college baseball fan. But Oregon State is starting to put some guys in the league so it's been fun to follow along. Watched Michael Conforto (Mets) many many times in Corvallis. As a matter of fact Conforto & Schwarber played against each other in the CWS. OS eliminated IU as I remember. Fast run to the majors for both of them I have been following MLB and Beavers more this season than in a long time. As I remember ASU stole the IU coach after his 2 CWS appearances. How's the new coach?
