My daughter’s boyfriend’s mother is visiting from New Hampshire. We’re doing dinner with them tomorrow night. Should I offer to pay? No formal plans Saturday. Going back to church Sunday for first time since March. No wine in the communion.

His Father wasn’t on the scene. His Mother raised him. She was understandably devastated. She was a close friend of my mother’s but had moved away by then.

My brother’s best friend in high school did this when he was about 19. Never really found out if it was suicide or accident.

First time meeting BuffCarla’s family was at her father’s funeral. I proposed 8 months after that, so dodged that bullet. Her family has been very welcoming to me over the years.

Super close to my daughter. Very close to my mother, and just a little less to my father. Close to all 4 of my brothers. Facebook friends with a few cousins on my mom’s side. No contact with my 5 cousins on my Dad’s side.

It has never ever been over 100F here. At least since records have been kept -1880s. Also never been colder than -20F. The lake moderates us.

I think we’re a ways off from that in my department. We’re all still working from home, no end in sight. Rules allow approximately 50% of staff on site. We’re in the last 50% because our legal/compliance work lends itself well to work from home. I never much liked office celebrations. Unless there was cake. 🎂🎂🎂 Did you get cake?

No. My will is written as a 46 year old single Dad with a teenager. About to take a cross country bicycle trip. I am none of those now. Its on the to do list.

I saw my daughter on Father’s Day, but no cycling was involved.

I walked a couple miles this evening. 2.3 miles for the day. Went to a bike path with my binoculars. Saw 3 warblers, Cedar Waxwings, a cardinal, a Heron, Killdeer, Mourning Doves, Sparrows, Catbirds, and oodles of Red Wing Blackbirds and Robins. A couple deer, too.

Never even thought of eating Bee’s Troots. Not even sure what they are. I imagine a taste of honey. Are they good?

Always enjoyed the Grateful Dead, but when I was about 20 my 14 year old twin brothers became deadheads. I was the DD for shows in Niagara Falls and Toronto. As I got older I realized how much of their playlist relied on Giants of the past. Big River, The Race is On, Cocaine Blues, City of New Orleans, Not Fade Away, Dancing in the Streets and so many more were covers of Pop, Country and Rock classics. My favorite Dead song remains Catfish John. What a great song.

Unstoppable with Morgan Freeman from 2010 is a much better alternative. Takes place in Pennsylvania and uses the intelligence of the natives and the hilly terrain to great effect. Made my sophisticated teenage nephew watch it. He grumbled at first, but then really got into it.

I’d worry more about pets and kids. Black bear fatalities are very rare, but not unheard of.

Doesn’t sound good. I guess if you add enough Vodka it would be OK. I drink low sodium V-8 most mornings.
