MickinMD ★ Posted June 7, 2020 Share #8 Posted June 7, 2020 Good luck with the bump! I had some very minor swelling/pressure in my right maxillary sinus (under my right cheek) beginning in March. It didn't hurt but did hurt a lot if I pressed on it and my gums around a few of my upper-right front teeth were partially numb. I saw my doctor March 31st for it and some intermittent, very-mild vertigo. He looked up my nose and in my ears and said there was definite infection and gave me a 10 day course of amoxicillin. That didn't work. So I figured this was another one of those hard to cure sinus problems and I'd self-medicate unless it got worse, then I'd see my ENT specialist (I don't need a PCP referral). I bought some 120 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride tablets (Wal-Fex D at Walgreens) for the sinuses and Meclizine tablets for the vertigo. Beginning the last week of May, the swelling/pressure began to lessen and it now it only hurts if I press it hard. The gum numbness is gone. The vertigo is gone. The crackling I'd hear almost constantly in my right ear from a clogged eustachian tube is intermittent now and mostly gone. So, I hope it's all gone soon. I'm now wondering if it was a case of a bad irritation, more than infection, due to a little smoke inhalation during my house fire that I saw my doctor for the next day and who was more concerned with my lungs - which were fine except for a little irritation at the top.
