kingtermite Posted September 18, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 18, 2014 Tamales. Real, HOMEMADE tamales are one of the best foods one this planet!!! Years ago I used to date a girl from Nicaragua and occasionally her father would come up from Miami (we lived in Central Florida then) with some Nicaraguan style tamales (they called them "nacatamales" and would get offended if you actually called them tamales) that he bought from some old Nicaraguan women who made and sold them to locals. OMG were they divine!

jsharr ★ Posted September 18, 2014 Share #6 Posted September 18, 2014 So I wandered out to Mi Cocina in the mall at lunch. Ended up getting the Tacos de pescado, but I almost went with tamales.

Restaurant tamales still won't be the same. They are likely not much different than the kind you can buy in can at the grocery store.

Thaddeus Kosciuszko Posted September 19, 2014 Share #10 Posted September 19, 2014 This thread is so misogynistic. Nearly a whole page and nobody's even mentioned tafemales.
kingtermite Posted September 19, 2014 Share #11 Posted September 19, 2014 Do not tell the Texan about tamales, mkay? I will not tell you about EarthDay or coffee. Deal? I've already had to tell you how to make proper chili too. Now I need to school you about tamales. You should turn in your Texas citizenship and move to Martha's Vineyard or something.
