Popular Post Further Posted April 6, 2017 Popular Post Share #1 Posted April 6, 2017 20 something, married no kids, he's an electrician she's an RN. Nice kid. Hipster. Smart. Comes to work every day and does his job. He asked for a 6 month leave of absence to go travel in his RV with his wife. They told him no leave, but they would hire him back, if he came back. I have doubts that he comes back. I envy him so much.

I didn't think these two words could describe the same person, but I guess it could really happen... The man and his wife sound as if they have worked hard, saved their money, perhaps even invested wisely, and now they want to enjoy what they have worked so hard for. And good for them. They both have highly portable professions in today's employment scene so once they've finished their tour they can easily find work in many parts of the country. You may see him again, though. Once the savings dwindle, and paying the COBRA costs for continuing health insurance mount, and the magic of wanderlust dulls in its luster, the attractiveness of a steady income and the familiarity of your workplace may be enough to bring him back.

BR46 Posted April 6, 2017 Share #4 Posted April 6, 2017 I am so jealous of people who can do that. I have been trying talk Wo46 in to living like that but scary part is what we would have to payout for insurance.
tybeegb Posted April 6, 2017 Share #5 Posted April 6, 2017 Can't fault the guy for doing what would be difficult when children come along. Wish him well.
Parr8hed Posted April 6, 2017 Share #6 Posted April 6, 2017 That's pretty cool. My dream right now is to travel in the camper watching my daughter play college softball and/or my son race his bike. Obviously a lot has to fall in place for this to happen. Realistically I think that I can make it happen on my end, travel nurses get paid some jack.

bikeman564™ Posted April 6, 2017 Share #8 Posted April 6, 2017 I admire them for being able to do this at such a young age and taking the risk. Hope all works out for jobs when they finish their journey.
