What scares you

I use to be terribly afraid of public speaking so I became an instructor. I'm still nervous about public speaking, but I can do it.

Probably related to the above, I use to be very, very shy. I force myself not to be.

If the fear interfers with my life, I confront it head on.

If the fear doesn't make much of a difference, I just avoid it. For example I'll never knock on the door of a known vampire except maybe at noon.

It's of little use to know that you are stand on when the other boat does not. :(

I was thinking specifically of race starts in PHRF fleets.  I liked to play the favored side of the course at the line, so pin end port start was not uncommon for me.  I would cross the fleet on port, with lots of ducking.  This was easy in my little 20 footer.  Not so much on a bigger boat.  I do not like big boats that try to play my games.

I want a bigger boat. But I know I won't get my investment back in my current one if I flip it next year. So I will sail my 25 footer again next year to get pleasure from the monies I have spent and then upgrade, cutting my losses.
