jsharr ★ Posted April 13, 2020 Share #7 Posted April 13, 2020 Ever since I cleaned out my gutters and installed a new drain to get water away from the house, the rain keeps going around us. Hope everyone is safe from the bad weather. I have been through more than my share of tornadoes. They suck big time.

jsharr ★ Posted April 13, 2020 Share #15 Posted April 13, 2020 How many of us have been in a tornado. I have been IN three. None were fun. One of those three was on a lake. Been close to at least half a dozen
Zephyr Posted April 13, 2020 Share #16 Posted April 13, 2020 I was town when one touched down on the far side of the city, I did not see it. One missed my daughters house by less than a mile as the crow flies last summer. They are not super common here
Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted April 13, 2020 Share #17 Posted April 13, 2020 First one I experienced was in 1972, Fairfax VA. We were skating at the ice rink. The back doors facing the woods were open. As we skated, we watched the tall oaks bending sideways in the rain. The rink lost power and the ice started to melt. Later, we learned that there was a tornado that passed us by and tossed a school bus into a storefront about a mile from the ice rink.

Parsnip Totin Jack ★ Posted April 13, 2020 Share #20 Posted April 13, 2020 Another one was in the early 2000’s ‘04 I think. Wo7 and I were driving home in an intense thunderstorm. Sky got quiet and still then turned a green color and the storm returned with a vengeance. Trees were snapped in half and sent spinning. I respect tornaders. Don’t care to see another. jsharr ★ Posted April 13, 2020 Share #23 Posted April 13, 2020 So has the tornado belt moved South? Texas and Oklahoma used to be square in the middle of torando alley and now we seem to be on the fringes and the storms seem to hit the deep south more.
