  1. I love the snarkiness that Linux environments sometimes have. I had a k3s 9 pod cluster all locked up for 3 days and it was a super simple fix but it took me the 3 days to figure out the simple fix as I kept doing all the more complicated checks first. Step one, instead of rebuilding the cluster or recompiling the kernel, always check to see if the SFP DAC connector wasn't loose first.
  2. All carried by him too. This last season is all up to our abysmal coaching.
  3. I am a bit of an audiophile junkie when it comes to in-ear monitors; also, over hear headphones but that's not the post subject. For wired: Moondrop Blessing 2 Woods (office at home listening) The Fragrant Zither TFZ KING PRO ( straight headphone jack portable king) NiceHCK M6 (Office at work setup) THIEAUDIO Monarch MKII (Kilobuck killer and all-around King of IEMs IMHO) With wired I use specialized DACs (Digital Audio Convertors) with very high sensitivity for IEMs: office -> Hidiz S9 Pro, portable -> iFi GoBlu For Wireless: Jabra Elite 7 Active (running/workouts) Soundcore Liberty 2 (General use and planes/conventions for ANC)
  4. Thanks everyone! I do regret not getting around here as much lately but duty has been calling rather heavy handily.
  5. Tornados are only a threat when they spin off from Hurricanes. Hurricanes, I've been very fucking close.
  6. I have two: Pretty much chocolate candy anything and Turkish Meze (Muhammara, Havuç Tarator, and Ezme) . I ate so much of the meze over the holiday it was kinda silly.
  7. A $5 Taco Bell box is a cheaper alternative.
  8. TO READ: READING: Just Finished:
  9. The cruise ship I was on over the Thanksgiving break had this on the ellipticals and treadmills. I got up every day around 5 to watch the sunrise over the ocean/ports while I put in some miles. I used their adaptive workouts and had the screen display some fun places. I loved the Pacific Northwest trails.
  10. Not tried that but had similar yogurt-type drinks from the Middle East to the Mediterranean. I wouldn't knock it until you tried it. One of my first impressions of a new drink my wife offered me was the traditional Turkish yogurt drink, Aryan. I sneered at the concept as a White-Bread-Fake-Cheese American I was openly confused about a salty yogurt drink. Which by the by can be done with flat or carbonated water and is delicious either way. I laugh now at my ignorant younger self. Aryan is delicious and perfect with grilled meats, sandwiches, or even shepherd's salad. This was one I got at a Durum restaurant to go with our lunch:
  11. No Facebook but regardless he has my support, vibes, and admiration!
  12. The trick is to keep an amazon wishlist of things you want/need and subscribe to camelcamelcamel.com by linking your wishlist to it. I get auto emails whenever the items go over a certain percentage off. I've snagged a bunch of really great deals this way.
  13. I did that with the Saucony sale on Amazon over the weekend. Got 3 pairs of Ride 14s for $38 a piece, $140 msrp and trending about $80 for my size everywhere else
  14. Good morning, Spent the morning getting the house presentable for company. Have some friends and family coming over today and tomorrow and then we leave for Greenville Thursday late at night. Gonna spend the holidays with my sister and folks up north-ish. The rest of the day is finalizing some code I'm going to push to production and then a run and dinner.
  15. I also have about 5 of these, they make fun little gifts and are a quick print to check supports and bridging while giving something useful:
  16. I always start with a benchy. Over the years I got bored of the standard benchy and switched to a voroni benchy. Much better stress test for temp and retraction settings of new filament.
  17. Using the great recommendation and write-up by @MickinMD we narrowed down our selection for a digital piano for our daughter. We borrowed a simple Casiotone 61 key portable for her to play with while not in her lessons and to see if she practiced at home with minimal fuss. She actually kept pretty close to 15-20 mins of real practice almost every day without us even prompting her. She's also made good progress with her instructor. This made us pay closer attention to purchasing a keyboard. Costco carries a very well-reviewed Roland FP-10 package that they call the FRP-1. Comes with a nice stand, sustain pedal, bench, and headphones. They typically have it for $699 and yesterday while grabbing some essentials, I saw they had it on sale for $550 until Dec 24th. So now we own a very nice-looking, and IMHO, playing piano. The daughter hasn't seen it yet but will tonight after gymnastics practice.
  18. The last webinar of the year is tomorrow. Based on traction, I hope to get more solidified gigs from AWS and Alteryx next year. Even if you have 0 interest in this type of talk I'd ask that you sign up and log in. Even if it's muted in a browser. Every signup counts! https://awsinsider.net/webcasts/2022/12/alteryx-when-its-prime-time-for-a-bi-reboot.aspx?tc=page0&pc=alteryx&utm_source=webmktg&utm_medium=E-Mail&utm_campaign=alteryx It's 2pm ET
  19. I've done a bunch of these over the years. My favorite was a breakout reindeer Christmas card
  20. I like Mint for a simple windows style environment.
  21. Fuck Cancer. You have my vibes.
