sheep_herder ★ Posted March 10, 2023 Share #51 Posted March 10, 2023 Are you bird watching? You could see some new ones down there. I may have missed it, but did you fly into Austin? If so the country west of there, the Edwards Plateau is some of the best country Texas has to offer. It is good sheep and goat country. My wife has relatives in Llano.

It was in a pasture on the LBJ Ranch. 3

BuffJim Posted March 13, 2023 Author Share #65 Posted March 13, 2023 The Menger. The hotel bar has bullet holes where Teddy Roosevelt and his rough riders were playing a shooting game in 1898. I found one. 1
BuffJim Posted March 13, 2023 Author Share #66 Posted March 13, 2023 One particularly famous spot where volunteers were gathered was in San Antonio, Texas, at the Menger Hotel Bar. The bar is still open and serves as a tribute to the Rough Riders, containing much of their and Theodore Roosevelt's uniforms and memories.[8]

Gonna be tired tomorrow, but I can’t just hop into bed after getting home late at night. 3
