I used to work right next to the paint department at Westinghouse. The fumes would sometimes make us high. I don’t know how the painters could take it.

When I did industrial chemistry process research, I worked at a plant that was the 4th largest phosgene producer in the world.  Phosgene was one of WW1's "Mustard Gases" used to kill thousands of troops.  Our plant produced it and then immediately reacted it with other chemicals.

I developed synthesizes of useful chemicals from phosgene, from mining chemicals to biodegradable pesticides to non-carcinogenic flameproof materials for kids clothes.

But my lab techs, quality control chemist, and I breathed in small amounts of leaked phosgene from time to time.

We never caught colds in the winter!

Other similar experiences were the reason I eventually switched to teaching high school.

I thought this was going to be a pic of or from longhorns cell tower friend.

Good job on the longhorn, Otto. :D

You wouldn’t believe how she makes a living now. That cell phone tower job was too frickin cold last winter. I don’t even want to work outside when it’s freezing cold on the ground.
