smudge ★ Posted February 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2018 5.43 miles on the fattie on a new-to-me trail. I had been told of the trail in Escanaba, but I thought it was pretty much a cross country ski trail. Turns out, it's for fat biking too! It's a super wide trail, well groomed, a little hilly but not bad. I went from the trailhead/motel on the "easy" trail through the swamp to Loop 1 (which is fairly easy too). I did two laps on Loop 1 and then went through the swamp again to get back to the truck. Gorgeous sunny day, upper 20's for temp. A little windy, but not windy in the swamp and not too bad in the woods. Looking forward to going again. Knee was ok with the hills. It doesn't like the brace anymore; hard to get full pedal stroke without the brace kinda pinching at the top of the stroke. Afterwards it feels like it's swollen in there or something. Ah well, part of the healing process.

JerrySTL ★ Posted February 15, 2018 Share #7 Posted February 15, 2018 17 actual outside miles at 14 mph avg. I was slowed down by a hurting hamstring muscle from running yesterday.
