Longjohn ★ Posted July 1, 2021 Share #10 Posted July 1, 2021 Some years the Baltimore Orioles emptied all my feeders every day. I only fill them once a day.

I saw an Oriole the other day, but it was too big to use the nectar feeders. I’ve been wondering if a jam feeder would bring them around.

If you pull one of the yellow plastic blossoms out of the hummingbird feeder the Orioles can drink from it, 1

Hmm - woulda' thought it would have been the Cleveland Indians or Pittsburgh Pirates. Sorta far for the Orioles.

The sound they make reminds me of my VW Beetle engine. And I like watching them fly around each other. The Rufous birds show up later in July. That’s when the aerial battles really start popping.
Kirby Posted July 2, 2021 Share #19 Posted July 2, 2021 I remember the first time I saw a hummingbird and called my parents to tell them. They always enjoyed feeding the birds and this was a big deal for a city girl.
