Today is the first of a succession of Christmas dinner gatherings. My brothers and their wives are bringing Mom to our house today.

Turkey is in the oven and preparations are under way.

There is no white on the ground but it looks festive inside.

Your mom will be delighted with all this.

Indeed she will. I am sure she will be delighted with her gift as well.

Mrs Rattlecan put together a book of photos centring around the home she has lived for 72 years and where she and Dad raised the three of us.

The house was a work in progress from beginning to end and so many memories are tied up in the place.

I am expecting it may get a little emotional.

That's like our normal Christmas dinner!  One table isn't enough for a family gathering, so you gotta push a few together and it spans from the dining room into the living room (at our SiLs).  And chairs need to be rounded up as well.  Worth it, but always funny doing the "how many?" math and then trying to sort out the table and chair situation.

Well the book was a hit, home run actually, as was the meal and everything else.
Everyone has gone home and all that is left is the cleanup.

Next one is in two days at my step daughter’s place.

Also turkey there too at step daughter's?  I realize you don't really care.. as long as it's delicious.

As far as I know it will be turkey but I am okay with that.
I made a 19 pounder today and there is more than half of it left. We will be taking that to my son’s place on Boxing Day for another round. I never get tired of turkey.
