So what is the best-tasting chemical concoction that you know of?

I think for me it might be the late and lamented (by me!) Wawa Toffee cappucino.  I just tried to duplicate it with Heath Bar chips in my coffee, but I think I went a little too light on the chips.  I don't need to add sugar to my diet, but I am tempted to google toffee cappucino.  That shit was goood!  (FTR, I always cut it like the drug that it is, maybe 70-30 decaf coffee to the stuff.  Drank straight it would put a moose in a diabetic coma!)

Maybe this?

A close second might be chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream!

Wendy's Frosties and McDonalds ice cream are also some very good fake stuff!

I would say Chardonnay wine as far as taste plus effect.

For taste alone, chocolate ice cream with one or more of: caramel-filled chocolate drops, chocolate bricks, chocolate fudge, chocolate syrup, almonds, pecans, walnuts, bananas, whipped cream, and marshmallow swirl

I guess it is probably only semantics. 

Maillard reactions are chemical reactions that create the taste of the foods we like.  Better eating from chemistry as well as better drinking.
