I remember pledging allegiance to a 48-star American Flag, when Texas was the biggest State in the union, and the jokes that Texas was going to secede after Alaska became the 49th State.

I have a 49 star flag.  It was my dad's.  You don't find a lot of those around.

I know a bunch of Texans who believe Texas has the right to leave the union as part of the agreement when we allowed the United States back in.

I have wondered at times what might happen if a state decided to leave the union today.  I think Texas should give it a try, just for fun.  :)

We cannot leave, just divide into four states plus Texas.  I would support this if they allowed me to name the 4 new states.

Every few years, the panhandle of FL talks about seceding & joining AL.

I lived in Pensacola for awhile.  It seemed more like Alabama than Florida, for sure.

Just think of all the senators you would have in Washington.  4 states plus Texas would mean 10 senators instead of two.  :)
