My new mini rice cooking machine review.

Not mini enough. It's too hot to cook very small portions. I ended up restarting the cook mode several times and the rice to water mixture ended up being 1 to 4+.  It should, however, be a good steamer.

It's a very simple machine with a 330 watt cooking heater. I am thinking about getting a fan speed control and reducing the input voltage to control the cooking temperatures for a variety of dishes.

So it's like this, you don't use the same knob setting on your stove for cooking different size dishes. With rice, you bring to a boil and reduce the heat to keep the boiling under control. With this cooker, the cooking heat is fixed at one level and designed for more than one cup of dried rice. Once the water has been absorbed by the rice, the machine switches over to the lower wattage warm mode. The steam was blasting out the vent hole like a steam lance and all the water boiled away.

Just take it back to Costco and get a better one.

I bought a cheap one so I could see how well it would work. And I got it on sale. No complaints from me on this thing. I think with the regulator, I can cook more things with this pot, more like the expensive ones with controls. The expensive ones give the operator presets for different dishes. Maybe the controls are timers or thermostats or wattage control. I don't know. With my control scheme, I still have the overtemperature cutoff and machine safeties.

Plus I can use the controller with the drill press, dremel tool, electric die grinder, ....

Pretty much the "solution".

I've walked past the small appliances in Costco many times. @donkpow just needs to turn down the aisle, see which one is being sold, and stick it in his cart.  They really can't make it any easier for him.

On the plus side, he will be faced with a "full service" or "self checkout" dilemma, but we know he can handle that one too!

Right. I don't even care if it works. I'll make it work.

Of course I'll be requesting the concierge service when I walk into the store.

You know, if you would cut back on the vacations, you could keep up.

Ain't that the truth! I'm woefully lost as to WTF you aren't a Costco guy anymore.  Best products at the best prices.  Me, RG, Mick, etc., are all on-board.  And, when on vacation, Costco gas is CHEAP!

I'm just not into that whole socialism thing. I believe in winning. At the expense of the masses, if need be.

My dear Mr Razors Edge, the middle class is the riff-raff.

I always felt they're more hoi polloi. Costco is a safe place to engage with them with some level of safety. You don't want exposure to them out in the open, for sure.
