21st tourism marketing: Tired ...of a woman often in photos promoting wonderful place to visit

For the less "professional" marketing, this is what one sees nowadays.  Govn't sites for national sites, municipalities and official govn't tourist regions don't use such photos often for their Internet sites.  (Thank god.)

Am I a cynic?  Yup. A visual trope.

@BuffJim  I just find myself getting increasingly impatient now and bypassing a site that has in 40-80% time, a woman in the site's photos usually artfully posing or similar.  And they MUST stand at an edge of mountain cliff.

Yes. Women modeling the good life. I’m all for it.

I probably need an example or two, but I think advertising in general really tries to focus on "appealing" things.  I love the National Parks, but showing a stream of mindless people at the height of summer queued up for a mile in their cars at an entrance gate to Yosemite/Yellowstone/Zion/whatever is hardly "appealing" (but realistic) versus a cute woman or couple hiking a trail or gazing out over a vista.  :dontknow:
