Popular Post Page Turner Posted April 7, 2018 Popular Post Share #1 Posted April 7, 2018 ...I can probably come up with names if anyone wants them. The large single red rose is "Altissimo". The impressive yellow shrub is a double yellow version of Kerria japonica. the thing that looks like it might be a rose, but isn't, is Camellia japonica "Hollybright". The closeup of the citrus flowering is a Bearss lime tree. The insect monitoring traps are in apple trees, to control the codling moth a little bit better than last year. Those buckets of Navel oranges are a late variety, and the last thing I harvest. I got about seven buckets of them, which we will probably use for orange juice. 5
AirwickWithCheese Posted April 7, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2018 This thread is an example of why it was worth putting up with all your insanity. Absolutely beautiful. Back in the day I would have pinned the thread and bragged on you for 3 days. Now, this will have to suffice. Please make a beautiful flower bouquet of all the different coordinating colors and send to my Kirby with a nice note attached. The card should read, Love Lydia Cheesewaithe.

The only thing he grows are lawn grass and tomatoes. Every god damn year it's the same thing with his tomatoes. *sigh* I mean, I like tomatoes too, but this guy is obsessive about them.

That kinda takes the wind out of your inflated ego.

There will be cherries in about a month if the few bees that managed to show up this year worked their little bee asses off. There weren't many of them, for sure. Page Turner Posted April 12, 2018 Author Share #13 Posted April 12, 2018 ...we got a veritable deluge here about ten days or two weeks ago, so the wildflower season promises to be a great one. These are mostly from up near Jackson, CA, taken along the Electra Powerhouse road. Which has an interesting history in and of itself. 1

Tizeye Posted April 12, 2018 Share #15 Posted April 12, 2018 I planted my vegetable garden over the weekend. Some of the seeds were just sprouting through this morning to too early to take a picture. This year I built a frame with PVC pipes, painted to blend in, and covered with deer netting to control the birds, squirrels, etc. We don't have deer locally - more the other side of town. I had some excess netting where I trimmed some panels and stapled it to the top of the fence where the squirrels launch themselves to the bird feeder and devour all the seed. Amazingly it appears to have solved the problem.
