shotgun Posted October 13, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 13, 2019 When you get invited to someone's house, say for dinner, do get there on time or a few minutes late? Or do you just say fuck it and get there an hour early?
Longjohn ★ Posted October 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 13, 2019 Most of our friends tell us something like we will sit down to eat at 1:00 but you can show up anytime after 10:00. We try to be fairly early.

shotgun Posted October 13, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted October 13, 2019 My wife invited her mother over for dinner. She told her to come at 4:00. She was here by three. Nothing new.
dinneR ★ Posted October 14, 2019 Share #8 Posted October 14, 2019 Fashionably late. It's the polite thing to do.

Wilbur ★ Posted October 14, 2019 Share #10 Posted October 14, 2019 I am held to being on-time in my work and I govern the rest of my life accordingly. I won't show up early though.
Kirby Posted October 14, 2019 Share #11 Posted October 14, 2019 Depends. If the person says "8ish", I'll be few minutes late. If it's for an open house, or party, a few minutes late. If it's for a meal, on time. If it's somewhere I haven't been before, I will likely get there early and then sit in my car or go somewhere else for a few minutes so I can arrive on time. The only place I'd arrive early was my parents.
