Ralphie ★ Posted December 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2019 Roasting Brussels sprouts! The only way to prepare these bastards is steamed and buttered. I was going to say little bastards, but these were huge!
Square Wheels Posted December 19, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2019 veganity does not include butter. A tiny amount of olive oil, a dash of salt, then baked. The crispy pieces are the best. 2

Page Turner Posted December 19, 2019 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2019 ...roasting vegetables generally brings out the natural sugars and results in a superior end result. Brussels Sprouts are no exception. I thought this was going to be a thread about Tofurkey, which is indeed an abomination.

I love Brussels sprouts roasted or boiled and grow them in every veggie garden I plant. They are great in Martha Stewart's Savory Fall Stew which is excellent, uses butternut squash - cubed not pureed, Italian sausage, and various fall veggies (including parsnips, fennel bulb) where substitutions - like sweet onions instead of cipolline or pearl onions - work fine. My guess is it would still be fine as a vegan prep without the sausage and using vegan chicken stock since it has so many different but complimentary flavors. https://www.marthastewart.com/337234/savory-fall-stew
