shootingstar Posted March 25, 2020 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2020 So our provincial health authority is advising residents to make sure they have 30-day supply of their prescription drugs. Yesterday morning, I went to get 2 minor prescription drugs. The drugstore is downtown, in now a nearly empty (of customers) 150-store shopping mall, in now, a dead downtown 'cause restaurants closed, people working at home, or lost jobs. Yea, there's a number of highrise condo bldgs. There are 4 other good-sized drugstores within a 15-20 min. walk in different directions from the one I visited. For the first time, I saw 5 pharmacy staff, working feverishly to fill medical drug orders behind the pharmacy counter. They looked harried. Usually one sees 2-3 staff there at this drugstore...not that I visit the dept. often at all. It was only 11:00 am. Pharmacy has shorted its hrs. to 6:00 pm. Woman serving me, barely had time to look at the prescription order to see if I was in their database, she was also trying to punch in info, on a bundle of 4 different drugs for a patient order. Insanity.
Longjohn ★ Posted March 25, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2020 The pharmacy I was at yesterday was the opposite. It looked like only one girl working. They always send me a text when they have the prescription ready. There was one person ahead of me in line (6 feet apart as per the sign) . He got served in about two minutes. One more guy showed up and stood six feet behind me. My transaction only took a minute, I said my wife’s name and birthday and the girl reached behind her and handed me the drugs.

Dearie thinks there's over 40,000 people living in the downtown area...in city of 1.3 million. I know in my neighbourhood, it's 8,000+ people. I was a baby in town of 1,000 in southern Ontario. It was very difficult for my parents...as immigrants and not knowing the language. We don't drive nor have a car. Dearie gave up his license last year. He just didn't enjoy driving anymore because of his narcolepsy. He was only driving 2-times /year in past 15 yrs. He used to drive heavily for business trips and when he had a farm (2nd property) outside of Toronto for approx. 3 decades of his life. He grew up in the country....it became a real problem and exhausting when he had commute daily to university in Toronto..it was 45 km. round trip. He couldn't afford to live in student dorms. It's very convenient to live very close to key services in the City. For him, his doctor, plus another specialist and dentist are all 15 min. walk. He bikes 30 km. round trip, to get his annual heart stress test. As...if cycling doesn't do that already in terms of activity!

For the first 18 years of my career, the biggest spot I lived was 2500, the smallest being 1000 people with anywhere from an hour to 5 hour drive to find anywhere near the size of 15,000. I have been in a town of 80,000 for the last 11 years now and still find it big sometimes

Not an exotic prescription drug. They asked for 24 hrs. So I had to come the next day to pick-up.

They implied they were glass as in a beer glass but I’ll bet they were fiberglass lined like a sludge tank is.
